Windows - leading edge, reliable and industry standard
WIZDOM has been developed for the Windows interface, but is specifically designed to optimally work with Windows 2000. Most new software is now being developed for this highly robust and secure operating system.
WIZDOM was originally developed for Windows NT. As part of our continual improvement policy, we are continually developing WIZDOM to ensure that it is compatible with the latest technology. We are continually carrying out technology reviews to see if the latest software and hardware can be incorporated into WIZDOM to benefit our customers.
Windows compliant
Since WIZDOM is Windows compliant, new technology, hardware and applications that are similarly compliant, can be used without any software changes. Software and hardware are constantly being developed for Windows and WIZDOM can utilise and integrate all of the latest tools ensuring you maintain a competitive edge.
WIZDOM can be operated as a thin client for example by using Microsoft Terminal Server or Citrix ICA technology. This allows you to provide WIZDOM software using Windows Terminals over wireless or restricted bandwidth networks. Since WIZDOM uses standard windows interfaces to the database, remote users can even be connected over the Internet using VPN technology.
Ease of use
WIZDOM is developed using the Windows 'point and click' system with drop-down lookups available at all stages. This offers exceptional ease of use with the familiar Windows look and feel.
Open architecture
As WIZDOM is designed for Windows, it is important to adopt the Windows philosophy of Open Architecture.
WIZDOM is designed to operate around either of the two most popular SQL databases. The software can use Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle as its database. Microsoft SQL server is the industry leader for PC based databases. It has proved to be a solid and scaleable product used in businesses of all sizes. Oracle is the database of choice for many major corporations. Oracle offers a multi-platform database with many of the features required by multinationals. WIZDOM can use either database, with no changes to the WIZDOM user interface or software. This allows you to choose the database your organisation wants without being forced by your software down a route that may not be your choice.
Most Windows report writers are fully compatible with both Oracle and SQL Server, so again, you can access your data in the manner you want, without any intervention. Equally, WIZDOM has its own highly developed reporting suite, and reports have links to the most popular spreadsheets to allow you to fine tune the data extracted from WIZDOM.
Object orientated
WIZDOM has been developed using Object Orientated software tools. This helps us to provide a highly reliable, robust system. More importantly however, is the re-usability of the common software objects that we have already developed. This means that time-scales for future development, enhancement and upgrades are dramatically reduced, since we do not have to 'reinvent the wheel'.
